Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing: deep powder snow of extra class near Whistler
Only one group per helicopter, no limit on altitude. Tyax Lodge and Heliskiing is different from other providers. Coast Mountains big number makes powder dreams come true!
In the middle of the Canadian wilderness and easily accessible is Tyax Lodge at Tyaughton Lake, one of the largest lodges in Western Canada. Located in the middle of Canada’s most beautiful nature, Tyax Heliskiing’s base is northeast of Whistler in British Columbia (BC) and is easy to reach, whether by land or by plane. With a distance of 350 kilometers to Vancouver, Tyax Heliskiing is one of the closest heliskiing operators in Canada to a major international airport. The lodge has been renovated and has become even more comfortable. It offers among other things a lounge with fireplace and a wellness area – an ideal base to relax before or after heliskiing. By the way, „“Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing““ used to be known under a different name: At that time it was called „“TLH Heliskiing““. Then „“TLH Heliskiing““ and „“Tyax Wilderness Lodge and Resort““ were merged into one name.
Tyax Heliskiing with a special concept
Tyax Heliskiing stands out from other heliskiing providers in Canada, however, not only because of its geographical location. The heliskiing concept: only one group is allowed per helicopter. This means that there is no waiting time because the helicopter has to pick up another group. Groups consist of ten guests and two guides in the Bell 212, or four guests and two guides in the Bell 407. In addition, Tyax has no limit on altitude. In case of bad weather, there is even money back – measured by the unused guaranteed number of vertical meters. But there will be no shortage of snow: Five to 25 meters of the finest powder snow fall annually. With over 4,000 square kilometers and more than 375 recorded runs, there’s a new adventure every day in fresh new Coast Mountains powder.“
