Selkirk Tangiers Heliskiing in the Deep Snow Dorado Revelstoke
Selkirk Tangiers is one of the pioneers of heliskiing. For over 30 years, the company has been flying from the freerider hotspot of Revelstoke to some of the best heliskiing areas in the world.
Selkirk Tangiers: When heliskiers hear about the Selkirks and Monashees, their eyes start to light up. The two mountain ranges are among the absolute best deep snow areas in the world. An average of about nine meters of the finest powder per season, relatively stable weather conditions, breathtaking glacier slopes and wonderful forest runs make them a dream destination for powder fans.
Selkirk Tangiers Heliskiing is part of Revelstoke Mountain Resort
The Selkirk and Monashee Mountains are home to Selkirk Tangiers. Founded by Swiss Peter Schlunegger, the company is now part of Revelstoke Mountain Resort. As before, the Hillcrest Resort Hotel above Revelstoke is the company’s base. From here, the helicopters take off each morning for their tours into the mountains. Some groups are shuttled to other take-off and landing sites to shorten the time until the first departure.
Selkirk Tangiers offers heliskiing with large groups, as well as for small groups and private heliskiing in Revelstoke. The rather young Revelstoke ski area is a huge advantage for all Selkirk guests. Like downtown Revelstoke, the ski resort is only about a ten-minute drive from the Selkirk base. If the helicopters can’t fly because of bad weather, you can quickly switch to resort skiing and even go cat skiing at the top of Revelstoke Mountain.“

Heliskiing highend is offered by the Bighorn Lodge directly at the foot of the Revelstoke ski area. The luxury lodge with indoor pool, outdoor whirlpool, sauna and movie theater with its eight rooms for a maximum of 16 guests is almost always rented out completely. Those who book it are catered for by a private cooking team. The helicopter lands on its own landing pad outside the front door.
