Kimberley: British Columbia’s sunniest ski resort

Perfect powder, plenty of sunshine, a diverse ski area and program ─ Kimberley Alpine Resort is perfect for families. But not only that, North America’s largest „gladed“ terrain is an all-rounder and playground for everyone!

„Kimberley is located in the spectacular Purcell Mountains of British Columbia (BC) and is known for light, powdery snow, little wait time at the lifts, wide uncrowded runs and plenty of sunny days. The resort joins Fermont, Panorama Mountain, Red Mountain, Revelstoke, Whitewater, Fernie and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort on the Powder Highway: a region known for very high snowfall and great snow quality.

Kimberley: Bavarian flair – Canadian spirit

Only locals work at this laid-back ski resort with a Bavarian flair, giving it an authentic Canadian spirit. Family activities are written large in Kimberley: The resort was voted „“best family friendly resort““ by a website visitor survey. Experts won’t be bored in Kimberley either: They will find challenging terrain especially in Black Forrest, one of the four faces of North Star Mountain. Here, when it has snowed, the powder stays for two weeks – ready for fun and adventure.

There are many different accommodation options, from cozy mountain huts to luxurious hotels. Numerous events and après-ski activities will not let you get bored. Night skiing is also possible: Kimberley is home to North America’s longest illuminated downhill run at over 2500 meters. For cross-country skiers, ten kilometers of trails at the Kimberley Nordic Centre are also lighted. Another plus is the proximity to the airport: The international airport in Cranbrook, BC, is only 20 minutes away.“
